Derived from the &#8220;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.studio-gilles-barbier.fr\/en\/project\/pawns\/\">Pawns<\/a><\/em>&#8220;This series features life-size, hyperrealistic wax representations of himself, staged in a variety of situations. Often very large in size, these devices evoke the artist in less-than-stellar attitudes, in which the latter, by turns amnesiac, swallowed, humiliated, priapic, open like meat from a stall, suicidal or a petomaniac, ventures into a dubious social body while mocking his own condition.  <\/p>\n<p>At the same time, however, he experiments with this series as a crossing of bodies, tenants of plastic, aesthetic and horizontal identities, manipulated and interchangeable. These stand in stark contrast to the depth and verticality of classical portraiture.
